Whole Body Functional Approach
All treatment at Diane Lee & Associates is prescriptive and follows a detailed assessment, which on occasion requires more than one visit. Treatment will only begin once a thorough understanding of your impairments and goals are understood. Every individual has a unique clinical presentation and therefore all treatment programs are individual and prescriptive (in other words, your back pain may be treated quite differently than someone else's). Ultimately, our goal is to empower you to live healthier in your bodies and be able to move such that sustained forces on any one structure are avoided. In this way, your pain will resolve and you will avoid any further damage to your body.
Your physiotherapist may use manual therapy (massage, stretching, mobilization and manipulation), ultrasound imaging (for assessment and biofeedback training), movement and/or postural retraining to help you recover. In addition, you may be asked to become aware of how you perform certain tasks such as sitting, lifting, squatting, etc. and to be open to changing how you do them.
Some of our therapists are certified in dry needling and acupuncture and may use these techniques in one or more of your treatment sessions. You may also be referred to Noelle (our Pedorthist) for consideration for orthotics and/or bracing or asked to book a few sessions with Leanne to consolidate the new movement patterns your physiotherapist has taught you.
You will be treated with a whole body functional approach, which integrates many different types of therapy and services.
