What is a Pedorthist?
A certified Pedorthist is a professional with a minimum four year university degree and three years of clinical/technical training. They must pass three exams before gaining certification through the Pedorthic Association of Canada.
Unlike Podiatrists we are not doctors and we do not prescribe pharmaceuticals or care for nail/skin issues. As a Pedorthist our focus is on the assessment of the foot and lower leg biomechanics, anatomy and recognition of structural misalignment. We specialize in orthotic as well as shoe prescription.
