Rachael Corbett
Rachael Corbett's love of human form and movement began with gymnastics at age 3. Combine this with years of dance and sport, a love for the sciences, and her own spinal stress fracture, and by university she readily pursued a career in physiotherapy.
Rachael Corbett graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 2005 after completing 3 years of kinesiology/sciences at SFU. She earned her Residency in the Canadian Academy of Manual and Manipulative Therapy (RCAMT) in the spring of 2007 and has completed numerous other post-graduate courses, which most recently include the Discover Physio Series. The Discover Physio Series teaches a framework for whole body assessment and an integrated treatment approach innovated by Diane Lee & Linda-Joy Lee (www.discoverphysio.ca) and is the approach practiced extensively at Diane Lee & Associates. Due to her proficiency, Rachael began assisting on the Discover Physio courses in Vancouver in 2011.
Because of her love of movement, Rachael enjoys treating anyone with difficulty or pain with movement using a whole body approach. Rachael is experienced in real-time ultrasound assessment, joint mobilization, muscle release, movement education and exercise prescription, but naturally each session is personalized depending on the patient's needs or concerns. The compliment she receives most often is about her professionalism, therapeutic hands, and smile.
Recreationally Rachael continues to dance and has recently donned pointe-shoes. Also keeping her busy is her two beautiful boys. Both of these areas of her life have extended into her professional career as she often treats dancers and post-partum moms. In addition to treatment, Rachael had the opportunity to pioneer a provincial pamphlet for post-partum moms
to help them know what is normal for their bodies after having a baby and when to seek help.
