Johanne graduated from McGill University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Sciences in Physical Therapy and is fluent both in French and English. Her early career focused on rehabilitation programs for children and for 7 years was involved with the Quebec College of Physiotherapists as Continuing Education and Communication Coordinator. In 1994, she moved to BC and her focus of care switched to adult orthopedics in private practice where she also co-ordinated occupational rehabilitation programs for injured workers. She developed an interest in Women's Health and has considerable post-graduate training in muscular imbalance/movement dysfunction, joint stabilization/mobilization, neuromeningeal mobilization, visceral mobilization and pelvic floor dysfunction.

Since 1998, she has been treating incontinence and pelvic pain secondary to pelvic floor dysfunction in both men and women as well as low grade urogenital prolapses in women. She is qualified to perform internal pelvic examination/treatment and integrates the retraining of the pelvic floor musculature as part of her holistic approach to lumbopelvic health.

Johanne is a strong advocate for reducing the incidence of incontinence and pelvic pain in the female population by early intervention post-partum, and has spoken many times at the community level to increase awareness of women and physicians to these topics. Her approach embraces the philosophy of Diane Lee & Associates; to empower women through knowledge and appropriate exercise.
