Through her early years in practice Michelle observed and treated numerous patients looking for short term and temporary relief for their chronic ailments, aches and pains, believing that this was the only option they had.
She believes that when the body has the right input and information be that manual therapy, education or movement that the body is capable of rapid change and can restore function that is long lasting and pain free.
Michelle graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2007. She has been working in South Surrey since then and continues to share her practice with the Living Wellness Centre she loves working with the multidisciplinary teams that both clinics have to offer. Her patients range from young competitive athletes to seniors committed to staying active. In her treatments she primarily uses myofascial release and deep tissue therapy while incorporating education on self care and daily movement. She completed her training in The Integrated Systems Model in September 2015, a whole body assessment and treatment approach practiced extensively at Diane Lee & Associates. She enjoys working with patients that are excited to engage in the treatment process and to work together to resolve and restore a movement, postural imbalance or limitation in performance they have been experiencing.
Never one to back down from a challenge Michelle has participated in multiple trail races and outdoor adventures. Her all time favourite adventures include starting at night to cross the Grand Canyon from the South to North Rim, working as support crew and pacer for the Badwater 135 Mile ultra marathon and a highlight of reaching the 19 347ft summit of Mt Cotopaxi in Ecuador. These experiences have reinforced Michelle’s belief in the bodies innate ability to thrive, push and heal. Today she focuses on exercise and training that is strengthening and nourishing including regular yoga, weight training, hiking and of course anything outside.
